Thousands of years ago, as the glaciers melted, the water carved out the blackhand sandstone, which today forms the origin of Ohio's Hocking River. It's just a short walk west to Rockmill Farm. Luckily Rockmill brewers discovered that the water on their farm is nearly identical in mineral content to that of Wallonia, Belgium, where Belgian ale originated. This pure water -- and that rich tradition of Belgian farmhouse ale -- inspired their four brews. The water, combined with 100% organic yeast, hops and malt, give their brew its uniquely aromatic qualities and taste.
